Matcha
Originating several centuries ago in Japan and deeply connected to Zen culture, matcha represents more than just tea; it embodies a lifestyle centered on serenity, the beauty of the present moment, and deliberate movement. As a symbol of refinement in Kyoto, it continues to captivate and inspire people well beyond Japan today.
With the intention to better understand the world of matcha, our collaboration with Ryoko from MUSUBI MATCHA for a unique workshop in the heart of the Marais will return this September.
Matcha Masterclass - An immersion into the heart of chanoyu
For an hour and a half, allow yourself to be led by Ryoko, founder of MUSUBI MATCHA and certified Japanese tea expert, in an immersive experience that goes far beyond a simple tea tasting. You will discover:
The origins and fascintating history of chanoyu, Japanese tea ceremony.
How to know and select an authetic and exceptional matcha.
The gestures essential to prepare a bowl of usucha (light tea) creamy and well-balanced, that you will be able to reproduce at home.
You will have the chance to taste two different ceremonial-grade matcha harvested in different seasons. One matcha is freshly produced, the other has been carefully aged for one year to develop greater depth and roundness which is reserved exclusively for the masterclass.
